Ronnie's Surprise 41st bday party.

It's hard to believe that we celebrated Ronnie's 40th birthday a year ago....it seems like only a few months! Ronnie and I can both agree that since that time, we have had the busiest year of our entire lives. It is so difficult to surprise Ronnie as he is completely resistant to playing along. I tried to put a blind fold on him on the way to the party but he refused, not knowing that we were heading to a party in honor of him. I had to put all of the details together on the sly that afternoon so I was hoping he didn't catch on.

We had a great turnout at Andretti's Karting and Games. It was the usual crowd of family and friends, plus a few others that we have not seen in a long time. Ronnie was exceptionally thrilled by his cake which was a replica of his current car. A great bakery in town spends around 2 weeks using photos that you provide to make a cake in any shape you please.

The highlight of the evening was Mom (Joanne) racing the go carts. I don't think she realized how fast they really are (these are not the traditional go carts we rode as kids outside). She is so tiny that it was hard to see her coming around the corner. Each time she passed us (we didn't race....obvious reasons for me & Ronnie was worried about his back) she would give us a quick wave without taking her eyes off the road.

We are off tomorrow for a quick birthday trip. It's a surprise so I can't share the details yet but look forward to updating everybody when we get back.

From the "mommy to be" blogs...very funny!

Ronnie and I are members of a baby center community where we have connected with parents "to be" all over the Atlanta area. We exchange photos, thoughts about what we are going through and suggestions. Today, a post was started in which all of the pregnant women vented as to how their hormones are raging. The posts are hilarious and I thought that you guys would get a kick out of them, too. They are all listed below.

Tee hee.  This makes me laugh re-reading it.

1. To the kid on the dirt bike who was doing doughnuts that I just caught riding through my wet yard making tracks in my grass. You are so lucky I am not really a T-Rex or I would eat you. I see you are not wearing a helmet again. I warned you earlier I would call the police. Two other people have called about you already (probably crotchety old lady and the woman with a new baby 2 door down). They are on their way.

2. To everything I have eaten today that I have seen again within 10 minutes. SERIOUSLY?! Cut me some slack here! I am going to go extinct! It wasn't a meteor. A stomach bug killed the dinosaurs! EEK!

hahaha i love this!!!

how about to my boss - who likes to ask me every day how i am feeling today - which is nice, but when you see me bee lining it to the bathroom to heave violently, dont stop me and ask how i am, or i will vomit on you :-) ask me on days were i am a plesant bundle of sunshine!

and how about to a particualer family member of mine who shall remain nameless - we will call you stamantha. listen, the next backhanded compliment you give me im going to eat your face! like, wow, the pants look great even though you can barely zip them up! or wow nikki, you are glowing, but do you want to borrow my pimple cream? or the best, nikki, try this wine! omg thats right, you cant right? well i will just drink for both of us. RAWR!! LOL

to my DH - Please DONT text me and let me know what you are having for lunch. especially if it is a ham sammy. i hate you. ((see my post about the ham sammy)) i want one so bad and you know that. well enjoy it! because as of tonight there is no deli meat in our house! you didnt have to give up drinking! ur giving up the ham dammit!

Just a few photos from September

I was going through my camera today and realized that I have so many photos from September that I have yet to share with many of you. It was a busy month as Mom and Dad Weaver had a wedding reception for us and entertained all of us for a long weekend.

We looked at a few homes today in preparation for our big move. It is difficult to do so not knowing exactly what city we will be in. We have narrowed it down to Atlanta and Fort Lauderdale and if all works out with the law firm down south, we may be heading to the beach! Either way, we certainly want to be settled before the 3rd trimester of this pregnancy. Moves can be absolute torture and I am a fanatic about having all of our personal items unpacked immediately.....so, the sooner the better!

We are really entering into the busy season of the year and of course, Ronnie's birthday. He will be 41 on the 15th, though it is hard to imagine that this is the very last year we he will have his birthday sans baby weaver. He doesn't realize it yet but I have a big surprise in store for him. I certainly want him to know how much he is appreciated! Look forward to updating everybody with birthday pictures galore.

Ronnie here; I saw a rear double bi-cep and a large johnson at 6 weeks so I know that's my boy.

Sick ALL over the city!

While we anxiously awaited our appointment this week trying to keep ourselves busy with work, we experienced some morning sickness....all over the city! The nausea tended to present itself mostly at work.... the courthouse, city hall, mediation, etc...... Ronnie just rubs my belly and and offers his support, quietly sneaking snacks as not to make me sick by the sight of food.

We had our 6 week, 4 day appointment, today. We got to know our new doctor who is absolutely wonderful and seemed to agree with the birthing plan that we have in mind. This is someone that will be present with us through our appointments, ultrasounds and ultimately, the delivery. We feel so lucky to have found someone so wonderful to help us through our pregnancy. During the ultrasound, we actually saw the heartbeat! Wow, what an incredible sight. Ronnie's mouth was wide open as he intently examined the viewing screen. The appointment ended with us both getting our H1N1 vaccines. We lucked out on that one as nobody else in the city seems to be offering it at the moment. Can't wait to give our next update.

Love,
Ronnie & Sheri

Debuting June 2010

We are still catching people up on our news so one new photo we would like to share is our first ultrasound photo. It was taken at 5 weeks and 4 days so there is not much to see, though we think it is beautiful! I was in awe of the technology and thrilled to see the embryo, however, Ronnie went in believing he was going to see a full term baby. He was disappointed that he couldn't make out the shape but I know it will become more real once he sees the heartbeat. This is such a surreal experience and I find myself looking at Ronnie's face in the doctors office, thinking of how lucky I am to have this wonderful man by my side and how much our child will look like him....I have always adored his sweet little nose.

It's official. The first step towards parenthood!

Though this is only our first day of blogging, we have so much to catch people up on. On the morning of Thursday, October 15, we experienced a truly blessed moment in our lives. I took a pregnancy test and to our absolute delight, it was positive. I came out of the master bathroom crying and just stared at Ronnie. Within moments, he had me pegged. He asked, already knowing the answer, "you are pregnant, aren't you?" We laughed, I cried and we went about the rest of our day in complete shock, not willing to wrap our brains around the news we had just learned of. Could it be true? Are we really going to become a party of 3 in a matter of months? Wow....two blessings in 1 year; I married the man of my dreams in July and now to have a child who is a product of our love. I don't think that any one person could ask for anything more, though finishing law school in the midst of all of this is extremely fulfilling.

Our First Post.

Well, we are quite new to the "blog" process, however, we are going to give it our best shot. We are creating this in an effort to keep all family members in the loop, especially, our sweet brother, David, who won't be with us throughout this time as he is in Paris for graduate school. We miss him so dearly and hope that these updates and photos will make him feel close to home and know how much he is loved.

This is such a busy and exciting time in our lives though because our family is spread out all over the country, this will be a great medium to share all of our news. Can't wait to get started!
